The vision of the nursing division of the health department is
healthy people living in a healthy community. Our mission is to promote
good physical and mental health as well as educating Johnson County residents on
prevention of disease, injury, and disability.
Yes. We give child
immunizations through the state VFC (Vaccine’s For Children) program. We follow
the guidelines that the states/CDC sets for us. To be eligible for VFC vaccine,
the child must fall into certain insurance guidelines. Children that do not
fall into these guidelines will be referred to their doctor. Please call our
immunization coordinator to see if your child is eligible for VFC vaccine.
Currently children’s immunizations are $5.00
- $10.00 per family. As of January 1, 2011, there will be a $5 administration fee for
one child and $10 administration fee for more than one child.
TB skin tests are
given on a walk-in basis on Mondays, from 9 am to 3 pm, and
must be read on Wednesdays from 9 am to 3 pm. At that time, we will
give documentation of the dates placed & read and the result. The office is closed for all government holidays.
These cost $8.00, payable by cash, money order, or credit card.

additional processing fee which will vary based on the amount charged.
