Influenza Vaccines

We provide immunizations for children including the flu vaccine.  The best way to protect you and your family from the flu is to get the flu vaccine.  The current recommendation is that everyone 6 months and older to get a flu immunization.  As always the seasonal flu shot contains three types of influenza that were circulating the previous year.  This year the seasonal flu vaccine includes H1N1.  It is recommended to receive this years seasonal vaccine regardless if you got either of the flu vaccines last year.  The other components are a strain of H3N2 and an influenza B strain.  For more information please refer to the CDC website.  http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/1011season.htm
